My Reptillian Tank

Ok...so here i've added another reptile to the tank....its the cicak!!!! LOL
Watch the vid and towards the mid u'll see Mr. Chi-Chak is there too in action...

At the end of the vid u'll see clearly my delhzie bichir with the cross birthmark on its head :D

The loud snap snap sound comes from the bichir themselves...when they snap at the surface water.

Added plants to the tank :D

Okay...here i type less and talk more...
As promised...added some plants and worked on the left side to reduce the current flow strength...and there as you can see...happy bichirs :)

Drift wood ftw

Here you'll see that the ropefish is kinda trying to get the lkf for meals...and err of course the new landscape to the right side of the tank....
Basically they ate two pieces of bog wood which i've been soaking for over a week in a tub downstairs toilet to wash off the brownie water thingy and to make it sink down.
Then i added a whole lot more gravel after placing it in to create that little small mount up hill thingy.....cuz at 1st just placing the 2 piece wood there didnt look at all nice till i added more gravel to bury like 1/3 of it :P then after that it looks like its been there for years...
Will be adding a plant there to make it all look nice later...and working on the left side cuz its like the change of the filter water output was changed to the direct left...which added to the current from the water pump on the top-right corner...therefore causing the current to become too strong and made all the fish like pref to stick to one corner cuz they got so tired of swimming against the current....

Here is a long intro post but err...totally all the way when i put in my ornate and rope fish :P
Took me like a whole month to actually see the rope fish in action trying to catch shrimps and the occasional lkf.....but recently i've been able to get him to go for blood worms and a bit of pellet...
Quite the picky fellow imo but yah...quite cool imo

Yep, during the time when my delhzie bichir is under quaranteen, I noticed that it had a cross sign on his head. AWSOME!!!! so cute too.

Here i have made mistakes....
1) i nvr thought about the ph value in the gravel....shud've tested it before putting in...
2) didnt change water in the aquarium before putting in the new endi. and ornate bichirs... luckily the ornate bichir is still well till today...unfortunately the endi. was too late to be saved and died shortly after this vid...
I hadnt leant about antibiotics or proper quarantine
3) i didnt add salt to the aquarium to kill parasites....which cud have been the cause of the endi's death too...
4) didnt add in the cycle bacteria and eco-bio block to help treat the water sewage

- oh well...i have to learn the painful way...1st timer with aquatics :(

As you can see the endi has like boold bubbles and the skin is like splitting....severely sick...hadnt been eating for a long time and he bloated up...i think it was internal dmg...
Part of the reason cud be the shop i bought the bichirs from cuz the ornate was not eating....but at least i managed to buy the meds to treat them...which i had to friggin change the aquarium water every alt day...
I kept calling the fish shop for advise and they got irritated as i asked so much lol

well..this vid again was taken like 2 months back....now i'm much better at it and i've got happy bichirs living well and healthy :D

Changed Gravel

This was some time back...i think like 2 months ago...
Where i went out with my buddy Adrian to look for white gravel....despite the advices given to me...i still insisted that the white gravel looked nicer...
So i got to one shop which didnt have the economy bulky pack of the white gravel but had many small packs...i think i bought the whole shop off the white stone packets...
Then i found i cudnt really lift it outta my car when i got back home...had to take out like pack by pack =.="
It was still damn tiring and heavy...but thats not all...
There is the process of having to wash the gravel before we can use it...
So there i took out a bucket at my garden (so i can water the plants as well as wash my gravel without having to waste too much water in that sense)
Where i opened like 5 packs at a time (about 30 packets) to wash in the washing buckets...
It was hell as each 5 packets i had to wash it several times...kept changing the water over and over cuz it kept getting cloudy every time i washed it...
Ok..so that took like 5 hours to get done...
Took a short break...went into next process...which is putting my current bichir fish into a smaller tank first then extracting the molten gravel from the aquarium.
Then had to wash the aquarium and filter clean...hooh...another hour.
Ok so that was done....had to now have the help of 3 ppl to carry all the white gravel in a large tub up to my room...and slowly put it in...
pour in the water...treat it...then put the bichir fish back...and there as shown in the vid :D

My Ornate and Endi. Bichirs

Added 2 new bichirs, the one with the stripes (which dies later) is the Endi. and the one with armoured scales is the Ornate bichir :D

Not much to be said cuz the video kinda says it all...anyhow...will be posting up more later cuz its been a hectic week and having to deal with work and as well as learning from the mistakes i made which contributed to the death of my endi. bichir... damn it..

Most ppl think its just as easy as changing the water...but then its actually a lot more work to keep the tank a healthy environment...
will explain more of that later...

Diablo and Kalifa updates

The guppie like compared to the long kang fish (LKF) is like the bonus fish for the bichirs.....cuz its much bigger in size, more colorful and probly looks yummy for them :p
anyhow..this guppie sure is a survivor....always getting away by the tip of its tail...

Here i got my 2nd bichir, the sen. bichir....calling it Kalifa :D
It was tues after work thing...rushed to the pet store to get one...
Met with the hawt chic who pic'd up the fish for me...when i reached she was liek...sorry we closing..i was liek...but its onl 7.30pm...just 1 bichir...
she was liek..ok..then i said the smallest one....lol...damn..shud've picked a little older one..but happy with it anyways...its one of the most active..
The albino is not at 1st friendly with it but later becomes friends xD

Its a bit hard to see cuz leik i'm not so rich to own a uber cam but err...ya can kinda see her eat the blood worms xD

Here i added a guppie from my other tanks downstairs to test out the new aquarium's waters and conditions :P
Left it there for 2 days to see if it *ahem* i mean...if there are any complications >.<

- It lived well after 2 days and fyi is still surviving till today ....test subject guppie is a real survivor

My New Aquarium

Okies, here is a vid of my new aquarium...soz for the side view...didnt know my phone wud take it that way lol

the tank looks simple but actually is a bit sophisticated lol
i later added the thermometer to monitor the temperature...
but its setup consists of the obvious water and also bubble capable pump on the right and air pump and filter on the left.

but guess wud, under the bedding are actually hidden plates which help to keep the bedding clean of the fish poo and even unfinished soft mushy mushy soluble foody things like blood worms etc...
if u notice the tube which connects to the water pump on the right, it actually is sucking the water out from the bedding and then shoots it back out into the water...
then the filter on the left continuously cleaning the water will suck in the filth from the water...then the dirty water goes thru the eham filter (farking expensive filter) which not only cleans the water but also add's good bacteria and other good minerals to the water back thru the green horizontal bar u see placed just higher above the bubble thingy... kewl huh...
that means less manual cleaning for bedding :D

What are my plans for the aquarium...as in deco?
yeah..been planning that...haven had the time to go out to buy yet cuz its like the shops dun have a good varety and summore they close at 7.30pm mostly around my house..not sure about other places...so by the time i get back home i rush there and find parking its like..damn i see them pulling the gates...>.yah so this weekend its another visit to the fish pets stores with my good buddie Adrian xD

i plan to liek add a bubble background so u'll see it in the later stages and of course more deco and houses for the bichirs...
i plan to get 4 lol
- anyways...keep visiting to check on the updates from time to time xD

as some of us know, i've grown interest in a certain type of fish
yep...Bichirs...
now i will take phone vids with some "tired after work commentary added" (so its not so boring" so mind me i may sound stupid in some vids but liek...wuteva rite...
ok...so i'm still new to this blogging stuff...i need to know how to add youtube and maybe even do that background music like those pro blogger ye kno..
a lot to learn...
